Named after the city of Peoria in Illinois, Peoria in Arizona is located in both the Yavapai and Maricopa counties in the state. With a population of 154,065 (US Census 2010), Peoria is the 9th populous city in Arizona and the 6th largest city by area in the state. The city was also listed in the Top 100 Places to Live by Money Magazine in the year 2008. It is also the training home of Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres.
